Resources for New Americans from the Des Plaines Public Library

 

The Des Plaines Public Library serves a diverse community where a variety of languages is spoken by adults and their children. Many have only recently arrived in the United States. We strive to provide materials and access to information to meet the needs of our multicultural population.

 

The New Americans guide offers easy access to current information and materials for:

 

Learning English

Adjusting to life in the U.S.

Applying for Citizenship

Recreation and pleasure

 

Bilingual Staff:

Some Des Plaines Library staff also speak other languages. For further assistance, please ask at any information desk to see if you can get help in your native language.
